When it comes to collecting hazardous waste or responding to a chemical spill, we make sure that having properly trained technicians on your site is a forgone conclusion. Providing highly skilled and trained personnel is one of the core fundamentals of our business.
We invest in the ongoing training and education of our employees through provision of world-class training. We send our specialist employees to renown training institutes across North America or bring industry-leading experts in-house to provide frontline instruction.
Training and education is a journey at Envirotec. Depending on the position within our company, new employees are trained in the basics like TDG (Transportation of Dangerous Goods), WHMIS (Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System), Forklift Operator, Hazardous Materials Awareness, Standard First Aid, and POST (Petroleum Orientation Safety Training). As our operational staff advance in their career, specialized training is provided including: Hazardous Materials Technician, Rail Car Specialist, CSE (Confined Space Entry), HAZWOPER (Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response), Heavy-Duty Mechanic and CSO (Certified Safety Officer) – to name only a few.
We subscribe to latest standards of competencies in North America including: NFPA 472 (Professional Competence for Responders to HAZMAT Incidents), NFPA 1001 (Standard for Professional Fire Fighter Qualifications), IFSAC (International Fire Service Accreditation Congress), OSHA 29 CFR 1910.120 (Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response), CSA (Canadian Standards Association), and SCSA (Saskatchewan Construction Safety Association).
Employees who provide advanced technical services, like hazardous waste disposal and environmental remediation, possess university bachelor’s degrees or diplomas in engineering, environmental sciences, and chemistry. If we don’t have the answer to a particular problem or situation, we’re ready with a network of industry-leading specialists in virtually every field. Our network of specialists, from explosive technicians and radiation safety professionals to occupational hygienists and microbiologists, are reachable from throughout North America and our relationships with them are reinforced with continuous participation in several industry associations.
