Training is a continuous and essential component of the services Envirotec provides.  Envirotec employees possess world-class training and are well versed in the latest safe work practices and procedures. Envirotec incorporates the following provincial, national and international competency standards into all training programs and maintains associations with leading competency accreditation organizations:

● NFPA 471, Recommended Practice for Responding to HazMat Incidents
● NFPA472, Professional Competence for Responders to HazMat Incidents
● NFPA1001, Standard for Professional Fire Fighter Qualifications
● International Fire Service Accreditation Congress (IFSAC)
● International Fire Service Training Association (IFSTA)
● NIIMS, National Interagency Incident Management System
● Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) - 29 CFR1910.120
● International Association of Hazardous Materials Technicians (IAHMT)
● Canadian Environmental Certification Approvals Board (CECAB)
● Canadian Emergency Response Contractors Alliance (CERCA)
● Saskatchewan Construction Safety Association (SCSA)
● Association of Professional Engineers and Geologist of Saskatchewan (APEGS)

All Envirotec personnel must undergo standard training. Personnel in specialized fields, such as emergency response personnel, undergo more advanced and specialized training.

Level I - Standard Training

In addition to company orientation, all employees are required to complete standard training before participating in any activity for the company.

Standard training includes:

● Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG)
● Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS)

Level II - Operations Training

In addition to on-the-job-training, personnel engaged in field operations are required to complete training specific to their job function and associated hazards.  Operations training includes all or part of the following:

● Standard First Aid and CPR
● Safe Load (Vacuum Truck Operations)
● Confined Space Entry and Rescue (NFPA 1006 and 1670)
● Fire Extinguisher (NFPA 1001)
● Industrial Fork Lift
● Hazardous Materials Awareness (NFPA 472)
● Hazardous Materials Operations (NFPA 472)
● Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (29 CFR 1910.120)

Level III - Specialized Training

Personnel engaged in specialized operations are required to complete specialized training. Such personnel generally possess at least five years experience and/or are involved in supervisory roles.  Specialized training includes all or part of the following:

● Hazardous Materials Technician (NFPA 472)
● Hazardous Materials Advanced Technician (NFPA 472)
● Specialist - Rail Tank Car Emergency Response (NFPA 472)
● Advanced Specialist - Rail Tank Car Emergency Response (NFPA 472)
● Specialist - Highway Emergency Response (NFPA 472)
● Incident Command (NIIMS)
● Leadership Development Program (LDP)
● Safety Management (SCSA)
● Leadership For Safety Excellence (SCSA)
● Safety Auditor (SCSA)
