Emergency Response

Who are you going to call when you have a spill of hazardous materials in Saskatchewan? Your first call must be to the Ministry of Environment to report the incident. Your second call should be to Envirotec. We have been responding to hazardous materials incidents for over 20 years. We have a highly-trained and experienced response team that is ready to mobilize to emergency incidents on land, water or air, 24 hours per day, every day of the year.

Our emergency response service is so much more than a few responders in chemical suits. We provide a complete service to bring the scene under control and restore the site to a regulatory clean condition. We transfer and recover spilled hazardous materials with our vacuum trucks and other specialized equipment. We coordinate cranes and tow trucks to move damaged vehicles and equipment off the highway. We have engineers and environmental science professionals who delineate impacts to the environment and work with government agencies for proper remediation. We have in-house remediation equipment like excavators, roll-off bins, and mobile water treatment systems to load and haul contaminated soil or treat impacted water. We even have or can prescribe licensed storage and treatment facilities throughout Saskatchewan to properly dispose of hazardous waste generated from the incident.

Our responders are among the best in Canada. We train in the latest techniques for spill confinement, containment and recovery. We send our responders to renown training institutes across North American or bring industry-leading experts in-house to provide frontline instruction. Personnel are trained to meet the NFPA (National Fire Protection Association) 472 standard of competence for response to hazardous materials incidents at awareness, operations, technician and specialist levels. Senior responders are trained in NIMS (National Incident Management System), advanced tank car response, highway emergency response, HAZWOPER (Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response), CBRN (Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear) awareness, and radiation safety, to name a few.

We stay connected with the response community across the country by active memberships in organizations such as CERCA (Canadian Emergency Response Contractors’ Alliance), CIAC (Chemistry Industry Association of Canada) and Responsible Care®, CACD (Canadian Association for Chemical Distributors), RAC (Rail Association of Canada), STA (Saskatchewan Trucking Association) and, SVFFA (Saskatchewan Volunteer Fire Fighters Association).

We also host the Western Canadian HAZMAT Conference in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan every year.
